The end result on the inside. There was already a nearby power source (a switched FCU supplying the outside socket) and so all I had to do was take a spur from it and make way for a single 13A outlet.
Having scanned the cats in (which was somewhat reminiscent of the self-service checkouts at the supermaket!) the catflap was good to go. As one would hope for the price (£100) it worked faultlessly and the general quality of it does instil confidence that it will do so for a long time to come. It seems worlds apart from the Staywell (granted it is twice the price) and avoids all of the inherent problems with flat batteries, lost collars, cat positioning issues etc. Incidentally, customer support from Pet Porte has been nothing short of excellent (to be fair, it had been from Staywell too but it was their product that let them down). Overall, highly recommended! |
